Hi,
I recently bought and moved into our maisonette home (upstairs). We've consulted with our downstairs neighbour (also owner occupier), and impact sound is a big problem even for day-to-day things such as footsteps.
Unsure on how solvable or costly an effective solution would be but are open to all options. We suspect there is little apart from chipboard and rockwool in/on the flooring/celling divide, and then just lino and carpet on top, and plasterboard on downstairs' ceiling. It is a 2009 building.
We are considering approaching this as a freehold, so might look to complete works room by room, from above and below, over the course of time in line with budget and schedules.
A conversation would be appreciated.

Offices share a wall at our house. We work from home.
Seems like no insulation. In shared plasterboard wall.
Rented house so wanting to keep costs low and will need permission from landlord.
Approx 2m x3m dimensions.
Can hear each other talking between the wall.
A neighbour told me there is hardly any insulation in these houses. A small cardboard layer apparently.
Looking to see what price and effectiveness of a treatment would be.
