Hello, I am in the process of buying a property and an independent RIC Level 2 survey has found positive damp readings. Please see their comments: Damp: We utilised a Protimeter to inspect for moisture to the internal walls of the property. The following recordings wereestablished: Positive damp readings were obtained within the property on the day of inspection.Positive damp meter readings were observed to the front and rear walls. Externally, the poor condition of the brickwork andopen mortar joints at low level has allowed for rainwater ingress. To the rear of the property, the poor condition of the renderwork has allowed for rainwater ingress. This could be as a result of the failing gutters.We would therefore recommend that the walls are repointed at low level with a lime-based mortar. The rendered wall to therear of the property may need to be removed and the walls allowed to dry before redecoration. If any further damp staining reoccurs, further investigation will be required.
Could I please get a quote for the repairs, as I will need to provide the seller with those. Many thanks
