i think i have damp in one bedroom, and it gets much colder than the rest of the house.
Another room gets mouldy in one corner, not sure if thats something you can help with.
The room where i think it's damp. gets much colder than the others, and has a large area of the wall where the previous wallpaper had peeled. Would like someone to advise. thanks

Rising damp in old cottage house.

We have a growing damp spot along in one of our bedrooms, this room is directly below a balcony area on the top floor ov our house. Suspect that water is leaking in via the balcony into the wall and cause in damp. Looking for specialist who can diagnose and fix.

I have a cottage that was built pre 1900 that is semi detached.
My internal wall that is in between my neighbour and I has always suffered from damp, we have had the property 13 years and it’s always been an issue.

When we brought the property we were told the neighbours had a burst pipe, their house flooded and it was never sorted out.

I have finally got sick of seeing the damp spots and exposed the entire wall which we will clean up and keep as a feature as it’s nice brick.

I would like your opinion and quote on how to treat this to stop it happening.

I recently started to repair a column that is single brick thick that a small rsj sits on and re plasterboard it but that has failed and is very wet to touch.

Please let me know what you think it would take to stop this. Also just as a separate point that my neighbour said is his issue is the water table apparently is incredibly high around us and has effected a number of properties close to me.

We are in the process of purchasing a property and would like to arrange for a PCA-registered damp and timber specialist to conduct an inspection before exchanging contracts.

Concrete Floor Dampness - Elevated damp readings to concrete floor in rear hall cupboard
Timber Floors
Cold Bridging & Condensation – High damp readings (28%) near the back door due to poor insulation and painted brick trapping moisture.
