Porous bricks : when we have a North wind and driving rain it hits the front of house and once the bricks reach saturation point water comes through the plaster where it buts at top of windows ( ground floor only ) this has happened probably 3/4 times in 15 years . I’m having some issues with damp in my kitchen. We’ve had a few plumbers round to check for a leak and apparently nothing, I’m thinking it’s penetrating damp due to the paint outside maybe? The paint is flaking and crumbling in the place we have the worse damp coming through. We have mould in the kitchen cupboards and the damp is on the walls above the upstand but worryingly it’s started to discolour the plug sockets after the storm this weekend as I’m assuming the damp is getting into them.

We have a utility that occasionally has water seep in through the skirting board at the front. We live on a hill and my neighbours garage sits above our utility. The utility also used to be a garage with a pit in the floor and that occasionally had water in it before it was filled in.
