Service Overview
Smart Local is a weekly subscription service with an upfront fee. Customers can select multiple trades, and the weekly price is based on the highest-priced trade chosen.
Prices are listed in GBP and exclude VAT. Each trade offers three pricing tiers: Lite, Local, and Plus, each with a different weekly lead limit:
- Lite: 5 leads
- Local: 10 leads
- Plus: 20 leads
In special cases, the weekly lead limit can be increased to 30 leads, depending on demand and availability in your area.
Smart Local is designed for small businesses and sole traders using our mobile app for tradespeople, which is available on Apple Store, Google Play, and Huawei App Gallery.
Contract Flexibility
Contracts can be upgraded or downgraded at any time. However, refunds are not available for downgrades, and upgrade fees will be calculated and shown in the app.
If multiple trades are selected, the total number of leads will remain the same but will be split across the selected trades.
The number of leads is not guaranteed, and no refunds will be issued for dissatisfaction with lead volume. Contracts can be canceled at any time, but no refunds are given for cancellations before the subscription period ends.
Lead Verification and Source
All leads are verified by phone, SMS, and visual checks before approval. Most job leads come from homeowners who submit forms on websites such as local-quotes.co.uk, doubleglazing.com, and myroofingquotes.co.uk.
Customers must save their business postcode, and leads are offered within a radius of 15 to 40 miles. Priority is given to more local jobs, with the extended radius used only if no nearby jobs are available.
Note: Lead returns are not available under the Smart Local contract, but we ensure that all leads are fresh and verified.

Account Activation Requirements
Customers must have valid public liability insurance (PLI) and a photo ID to activate the service. Documents can be uploaded via the mobile app or the online dashboard ("Smart Profile" > "My Documents" tab). In the app, click "Account" and then "Upload Documents." Choose the document type (insurance, driving license, or utility bill), take a photo, or upload from your device.
A valid payment card (Mastercard, Visa, or American Express) is required for activation. In the app, go to "Account" and click "Add credit card."
For trades that require legal certificates (e.g., working with gas boilers), additional information may be requested.
Customers also receive a free Trade Point loyalty card, which offers a 10% discount at B&Q Trade Point stores and online at trade-point.co.uk. A digital version of the card is available in the app, and the savings can offset the weekly subscription fee.
Lead Access and Competition
Leads are delivered in real-time via app push notifications. Customers can view available home improvement enquiries in the "Available" tab and selected jobs in the "Received" tab in the app.
Customers will compete with 1 to 3 other tradesmen for the same job, with a maximum of 5 tradesmen competing for any given lead. Work is not guaranteed, and customers must respond quickly to secure leads.
Leads can also be accessed via the web dashboard at leads.work, where customers can log in to the secure member's area.
Customers who upload pictures of their work, add a business logo, and receive positive reviews are more likely to win jobs. Reviews collected through the app are displayed on the customer’s profile page on local-quotes.co.uk.
Account access and lead delivery will be suspended if payments are not made. The service auto-renews weekly, with payments made from stored debit or credit cards. Invoices are sent via email.
