Fixed price home improvement job lead packs for tradespeople
Smart Local | Choose 5, 10 or 20 verified job leads with flexible local coverage. A simple fixed-price way for small businesses and sole traders to find more local work.
Service Overview
Smart Local is a subscription service where customers purchase a set pack of job leads in advance. Customers can select multiple trades, and the price of the Smart Local pack is based on the highest-priced trade selected.
Prices are listed in GBP and exclude VAT. Each trade offers up to three Smart Local options, with a different number of leads included in each pack:
- Lite: 5 leads
- Local: 10 leads
- Plus: 20 leads
Your Smart Local contract renews once all of the leads included in your current pack have been delivered. However, a renewal will never take place sooner than 7 days after the previous pack started. This means that if it takes longer than a week to deliver your full allocation of leads, your next payment will not be taken until the current lead pack has been completed.
For example, if you purchase a pack of 10 leads and only 7 suitable leads are delivered during the first week, your contract will not renew at the end of that week. The remaining 3 leads will continue to be delivered, and the next pack will only start once all 10 leads have been supplied.
Smart Local is designed for small businesses and sole traders using our mobile app for tradespeople, which is available on the Apple App Store, Google Play, and Huawei AppGallery.
Contract Flexibility
Contracts can be upgraded or downgraded. Any applicable upgrade charge will be calculated and shown in the app or dashboard. Refunds are not available where a customer downgrades or cancels part-way through an active lead pack.
If multiple trades are selected, the total number of leads included in the pack remains the same. The available lead allocation can be fulfilled across any of the selected trades, depending on suitable enquiries available in the customer's chosen coverage area.
Customers can cancel Smart Local at any time. Cancellation prevents the contract from renewing again, but any active lead pack will continue until the leads already purchased have been delivered. Payments already made for an active pack are non-refundable.
Lead Verification and Coverage Area
All leads go through verification checks before approval, which can include phone, SMS and visual checks. Most job leads come from homeowners who submit enquiries through our network of home improvement websites, including local-quotes.co.uk, doubleglazing.com and myroofingquotes.co.uk.
Customers must save their business postcode and choose the geographical areas where they would like to receive leads. Coverage can be set using a radius around the business postcode, up to a maximum of 40 miles.
Customers can also add additional full postcode districts to their Smart Local coverage area at no extra cost. This is useful for businesses that work in specific towns or areas outside their normal radius, or where a radius would include locations they do not normally cover.
Lead availability depends on the selected trades, coverage area and the number of homeowner enquiries we receive. Smart Local is designed to continue delivering suitable leads until the full number included in the purchased pack has been supplied.
Note: Individual lead returns are not available under the Smart Local contract. Leads are supplied from fresh homeowner enquiries that have passed our verification process.

Each payment covers one complete lead pack. Once all leads in that pack have been delivered, the contract will automatically renew for another pack, provided at least 7 days have passed since the previous renewal.

Account Activation Requirements
Customers must have valid public liability insurance (PLI) and photo ID to activate the service. Documents can be uploaded through the mobile app or the online dashboard under "Smart Profile" > "My Documents". In the app, go to "Account" and then "Upload Documents", choose the relevant document type and either take a photo or upload the document from your device.
A valid payment card, including Mastercard, Visa or American Express, is required to activate Smart Local. In the app, go to "Account" and select "Add credit card".
For trades where legal qualifications or certifications are required, such as work involving gas appliances, we may request additional documentation before activating the relevant trade.
Customers also receive a free TradePoint loyalty card, which offers a 10% discount at B&Q TradePoint stores and online at trade-point.co.uk. A digital version of the card is available through the app.
Lead Access and Competition
Leads are delivered in real time through app push notifications. Customers can view available home improvement enquiries in the "Available" tab and jobs they have received in the "Received" tab.
Homeowner enquiries may also be supplied to other suitable local businesses. Customers will normally compete with other tradespeople interested in the same job, so work is not guaranteed. Responding quickly and maintaining a complete business profile can improve the chances of securing work.
Leads can also be accessed through the web dashboard at leads.work, where customers can log in to their secure member area.
Customers who upload photographs of completed work, add a business logo and collect positive customer reviews can build a stronger profile. Reviews collected through the app may also be displayed on the customer's profile page on local-quotes.co.uk.
Renewals and Payments
Smart Local automatically renews when the full number of leads included in the current pack has been delivered, but never sooner than 7 days after the previous pack started.
If the full lead allocation is delivered within 7 days, the next pack will start after the 7-day minimum period has passed. If delivery takes longer than 7 days, no further payment will be taken until all leads in the existing pack have been supplied.
Renewal payments are taken automatically from the debit or credit card stored on the account, and invoices are issued by email.
If a renewal payment cannot be collected, account access and further lead delivery may be suspended until the outstanding payment issue has been resolved.
