We have around 6 pear trees and an apple tree which have not been cared for. We are looking for appropriate pruning to improve growth. I have dreams of espaliering the pear trees but not sure if they're now too old. We also have several plum trees which require pruning (branches keep tearing on one while fruit is ripening) however I think that's best done while not dormant.
